Sunset 2024

In the sunset district at that golden hour, I stare into the sea. It gives me inspiration, a living reflection. But as the water level rises over my wishful ankles, I'm left with a quandary. In this time of gift-giving, thanks-giving or giving in… how can I "give back"? Following the lyrics of a nostalgic hit, I tend to believe, You Get What You Give. Like recently, when I dove headfirst into a course on stewardship & permaculture design at the OAEC.  In return, I was filled to the brim with new cultural webs, positive feedback loops, and a deeper understanding of water flows. What comes around, goes around! So as this tide ebbs, I’m sending a loud, long and heartfelt ”thank you!!!” to the wide pacific, and to you all :)  I’m also still wondering how we can cultivate deeper forms of reciprocity… to our earth, its ecosystems and each other.

Thankfully, I've joined many inspiring teams this season and I'm always proud to share our collective creations. It raises my spirit to witness (via lens or screen) new waves of hope & purpose. If you have the chance, I invite you to wade in ~

Sustainable Living --

I've been obsessed with the Solar Punk movement for a while. To explain what that means, some talented friends and I made a short case study at Solar Punk Farms, and it's just been announced as an official selection of the 2025 Wild & Scenic Festival!! Here's a little teaser

This October16 cubits invited me to document their inaugural, ephemeral, architectural design competition and festival. Although sukkots are impermanent, this short video will remain for the curious to get a sense of the competition. The participants had wonderful things to say about how they like to give & take.

Resilience in San Francisco --

SF Safehouse recently celebrated its 25th anniversary of serving survivors :) I had the honor of filming the opening of their new Hope Center, and making a video for their 25th Anniversary Gala event.  In the process, I witnessed the hugely impactful support they provide for unhoused survivors of sexual exploitation and trafficking. If you are looking for a place to spread extra change, those dollars are going to good use.

Many San Franciscans have seen the silhouette of the Farallon islands from a distance, but few ever get there. And only one person has ever reached the Farallons...via water-bike! Jessica Schiller made history on this 'crazy' ride in remembrance of her daughter. I hopped aboard with Thompson & Homonay to capture the journey, and we're excited to share the story next year.

It takes some serious persistence to make a movie in the bay area, and talented screenwriter/director Shirin Mori has done it! Their sci-fi horror short, Navel Gazer, is screening next week at the 4-Star. It's the first thriller I've edited since I was in high school... So if you're in town, let's go and support local film!

Powerful Partnerships --

SF Quarterback Brock Purdy gifts his lineman Ariat boots for Christmas, and I was lucky enough to shoot and edit the Behind-the-Scenes interview about what connects these humble, hard-working folks.

Google Play & Superplay team up to amplify customer experience! Gratitude to Across the Pond for bringing me into their web to edit the Developer Story

I’m still striving, seeking, and spreading soulful stories. Let me know if you have any leads ! No matter the cause, it's great to connect. Wishing you health & peace. Thanks : )
