At 3 o'clock in the morning, a fog horn bellows from across the misty night. I look around my deconstructed kitchen and consider that I might have taken the business of 'nesting' too far. Only briefly though, as I've come to accept that being on the edge of chaos is my natural state.... and finding the only time to write at this odd hour might be a signal of my future fortune. The fog horn howls again. Despite some hazy vision, there's always light.

My focus for framing and sequencing has shifted slowly to sanding cabinets and stitching straight. My excitement, directed toward a new big project. That's why I'm writing, and suddenly have a lot to say about home improvement. If you haven't heard already, I'm having a kid! (and the honeydew melon is due this week!) I’ve always loved practicing art because it lets me capture a little bit of life, to make it last a little longer. And similarly, this next act of growth should be a great honor and joy. I really look forward to sharing the journey with you all : )

My poem, Bodie Bums, the titular piece of a newly published anthology
at my corner bookstore.
I'll be taking some time to start this new life right and give him or her the best of my love and attention. Over the next few months, I'll be slower to respond than usual, but still eager to keep in touch. By the onset of 2026, I'm sure I'll be re-awakened, re-inspired and ready for more work and collaboration. For now, please send your healing, happy waves like a soothing horn through the ocean mist. Thanks for your support during this time, and always!
